The sechs volt cup - part V

The sechs volt cup - this time from the garage of our friend T2-man. The front seat of his cool dove blue barndoor panel is given the makeover this winter. Making the 2mm piano wires the shape desired, can be a daunting task - good thing he has a good cup of 6V coffee to keep spirits high =)

Sechs volt mug - part IV

The race for Hessich Oldendorff is on!

From Splitman, vintage vw collector and SCC-speaker extraordinaire, we just got this garage-photo.
These days he is busy working on the powerplant for his pre-Ancient classic, making it ready to fly low on the autobahn next summer.
It seems like where VW-guys prefer coffee, Porsche-engines demand stronger stuff.... =)

The DVD from SCC 2008 with a lot of Sechs volt-fun!

BASED ON A TRUE STORY: (all text and picture from SCC).
The moment we´ve all been waiting for is here: The arrival of the SCC 2008 DVD!!! Kurt Källström and Rivstart Productions have made their best release yet with the 2-disc edition of Scandinavia´s coolest aircooled event! Everything´s there, the outstanding race action, the BBQ party, the vintage lounge, the show & shine, not to mention interviews with people from all over Europe capturing that very special SCC spirit!!!
The first disc follows the SCC from the setup on friday morning with showcars, Kübelwagens and racers pouring though the gates and the Friday Night Screwdrivers T-BBQ in the evening, the racing action starting saturday morning lasting all day long until there´s time for... another party of course!!! All of it spiced up with lots and lots of interviews!
The Bonus Disc contains a 30 minute "Vintage Special" with interviews with the owner and drivers of some of the rarest VW´s you will ever find in Europe! We´re talking Schwimmwagens, Barndoor buses, Hebmüllers and more!
There´s also a follow up on some of the racers who worked trough the night to repair their broken cars and their comeback on Sunday! In addition to a large number of personal bests we might even see a couple of records...
The best part? A total runtime of over 2,5 hours! No, scratch that - The BEST part is that you can buy it RIGHT HERE!

SCC: YOU´RE IN THE MOVIES!

Rubber on!

Last night, Oval57 put the (chassis)rubber on, and let the body and undercarriage melt together again for the first time in a long, long time...on the '52 captain that is. =)
Looking like a car again, now things are really starting to come together!
Later in the evening, a dismantled friend showed up once again - the "6V inn" is now fully booked for the winter =)

Sechs Volt Mug part III

This is Knechtens mug. Sad to say this mug has been in Knechtens hands for half a year, but has not seen the inside of a garage yet. Knechten is building himself and the family a new house this winter. The garage and his zwitter get no visits at all for several months... To keep control of the abstinence, Knechten keep the Sechs Volt mug by his side through the rough days as a handyman. But the coffe doesen't taste half as good without the grinder dust in it?

Chassis rails just arrived

A gigantic package was delivered on my doorstep today. This metal is going to help three and a half Norwegian vert owners getting their cars back on the road... I spent alot of time searching the web for the best vert rails around. Finally I found this site - www.thevolksmeister.com. The quality is by far the best I've seen. Thanks Robert!

The sechs volt mug II

Fellow 6V-buff and original-polizei supporter Erik N. has also received an 6V mug. He reports that he (as usually) has added some period accessories to his mug, in order to keep the coffee warm...!

A new problem has arised - it is no longer possible to measure the level of coffee in the mug. Despair not, future plans involve addition of a NOS fuel gauge he has lying on the shelves.... =)

Tonight, the temperature outside the 6V barn was a freezing -12 degrees C (!). Luckily for us, the inside is quite a bit warmer. To keep the spirits high as well, Splitboy did some metalwork on the '50, with good help and assistance from Fürsten aka Coyd Boddington =)

The Sechs volt mug

We have given away some Sechs volt-mugs during the last year, and we sometime ask for a picture related to what the club is all about. This time we have got a picture from our good friend Morten Lund. The picture shows an old transmission for overhaulin'? He is a true believer in old rusted steel. Morten have no idea about what happend in Wolfsburg after 1958! In his world it`s only kubels, schwimms, splits and barndoors. Standard oval is also ok. Morten has a huge collection of cars, parts, options and litterature. Every visit in Mortens barn is breathtaking.

BE A MAN - also for 2009

Entering a new year, a new milestone, always makes room for reflection. Living in relatively urban surroundings (in Norwegian scale) and surrounded by trendy co-workers and friends, I believe I see some disturbing changes. Hanging around in our sechs volt garage with grease on our hands, we like to think of ourselves as practical men. Seeing urban “men” not hanging around a garage to often, makes me realize that we are a dying breed. Make up, fashion and cooking seem to be the new trend. The trend these days for the young and upcoming men are, the more “gay-ish”, the better. There is hardly a man under 20 capable of filling washer fluid on his car any more. The "man" in the street get a hard-on from a holding a powerdrill at the supermarket. In ten years there won’t be a 20 year old capable of changing a single light bulb in his own apartment, but naming 10 different types of mascara will be a walk in the park.

I think that the Secs Volt garage, and all VW nuts out there representing the younger generation of our hobby, should take credit for being among the last REAL MEN of our time. Hunting down an old wreck in the forest, and making it road legal again, will in years to come be some of the more “manly” things to do. So the future seems bright… for those of us not planning any surgery down stairs.

REAL MEN drives an old sechs volt car, and know how it works =) BE PROUD!

Splitboy and TipGirl

Christmas is time for working in the garage. Oval57 and Splitboy helped each other with the cars, and now is the old lady of SplitBoy hanging in the tipgirl! From now on SplitBoy can test out his weldingskills! He did also hang up the matchingnumber 25 HP in the motorbench ready for inspection. Is he turnng into originality?

Frodes blog

Our true Sechs volt-friend Frode Algrøy got his famous "Sechs volt-cup" at SCC last year. Frode have been into the right stuff for over 20 years and are still going strong. He is well known for his two-paint 58 with a lot of options. In the last he has created a new blog. Please check it out! We must also give you a picture of his bathroom:)
