Small cars for little boys

After work yesterday I spotted a new old-style-shop in the city. I found these two Chinese VW`s and a Philips bulb-box. Sadly it only contains 12 V, so I crushed them:) 6 Volt forever!

Zwitter in the sun

Here`s the baby!

Intense activity in the Sechs volt garage

This weekend the light blue Zwitter drove the hole way home to the owners house. He is a lucky and happy man these days. 2 years with hard work, and he could finally drive the car home to his family. I have not asked him what his wife did say about the car? Maybe he can blog it?

The picture shows some of the cars by the Sechs volt boys.

Rally Babes "Rally Brudar"

A fantastic new film is coming to the movies this atumn. Hopefully not only in Sweden, but at least the rest of Scandinavia. In this trailer it looks like they have caputured the true atmosphere of 60 ies rally in the woods. Really looking forward to this =) Not all VW, but still...

Hudson Eight

This lovely "russ-car" was found at the same place. This car is awësome. The car was painted 30 years ago, and then just parked outside. Look at this fantastic patina!

Oval57`s latest catch

This 1952 floorpan was used as a "crosscart" 30 years ago. Last night our 12 V-friend "Boblehue" and I picked it up!

I saw this for the first time in 2003. Will it be ready for BugRun?

Lost and found

The sechs-volt-fox has been out sniffing around in the woods lately.
Here is the result after a 130 km trip. As you can see, this poor bastard has had a pretty hard life... R.I.P

Weather forecast for paradise road the coming week:

Danger for splits in the road…..beware of bias-ply dust and high-comp exhaust…

Countdown to Bug Run #25

The 6V garage have busy days, and are counting days to our annual tour to Sweden. Not counting because we are waiting, only because we are afraid to not finish our rides in time... But we have not failed yet, and will not be defeated this year either. Yesterday we had a break through, and the first split (zwitter) rolled out of the garage self powered. Man oh man what a feeling. After two years of welding rust, and then finally put the padal to metal, is undescribable. But we still need the days left to get our rides prepared for the long jurney in three weeks. More rides to be ready soon =)

A new link

We did put in a new link. This time the true VW-nut Erik Nesmoen. He got a very nice carpark.
If you visit his site you will see that he got more than this (what is it really?) "car".

7000 HITS

Unfornately the blog is not updated so often these days, but the hours are used well in the garage. There are a few secrets kept away from the blog so far. The crew is trying to beat the deadline for the annual Mantorp trip. I think quite some pictures and other stuff will be released close to take off to Swden in the beginning of june. Be patient =)

Nose for gold

Well, as stated before on this blog, we happen to have a first class "fox-hound" in the 6v Garage. Awaiting his split to be released from over 10 years of storage, Fürsten is not resting at all. One could probably say he is more restless than ever =) And for sure, he has a nose for gold. For the rest of us, we once in a while spot a bargain on ebay, but buying "public" rare accesories is not the same has beeing first man on the spot. And then to find accesories from norwegian splits, is quite an achivement. We are already thinking about renting out Fürsten to any female who will contribute to secure the next generation of vw-fox-hounds. The babys in the picture will certainly "fit like a glovebox" on the new split. It's fair to say that the 6V garage is in for an exiting summer, so stay tuned on the blog...

The Blue Hats

As a fresh breath to the VW internet jungle, a new blog is born. The VW Blue Hats appears to be some danish vw-nuts spending far to much money on RARE vw-accessories =) Sounds familiar somehow... But to be a real "nut" you cannot always follow common sense... We hope to se more good stuff in the future! All the best wishes from the 6v garage to a great new site!!
PS! The model was hired for the photoshoot, and is not related to The VW Blue Hats, we hope.

Recliner

Oval57 just want to cruise in his oval this summer, meanwhile the split been build up. And if he become sleepy behind the wheel he can just tilt the seat back and sleep for 15 minutes like the Gouerment says we schould?

I got this sweet set of recliner from a swapping with another VW-nut.

Cross-ply-mania

Crossply tires seem to be the thing among the OutlaVWs these days. But it has nothing to do with style... The simpel reason is the norwegian authorities. How? They made veteran cars pay annual road-tax a couple of years ago. To get what we have paid for, we are all converting to crossplies. We intend to use ALL of the road when we drive our six volts =)

Bullets from the old Kapitan

The Capitan Franz Johannsson, wich owned the car from 1952 lived in the north part of Sweden.
It sounds like he was a Capitan in the swedish army. And that could be correct because I did find 6 bullets inside the car. They ran out when we turned the split several times around in the "dolly", see my blog for more.

Think if this bullets could talk to us!

Swapping

Friday afternoon I went for some parts. Karmann sold his "52 only" alu-trim for the frontscreen. I did also got some interior for Zwitter and correct upholstery for my car. Thanks to Karmann!

Spionshot of SplitBoy stealing from the Capitan?

Saturday SplitBoy and Oval57 was in the 6 Volt garage. SplitBoy did work on his right bumperbracket and needed som inspiration. Its good to hava a "perfect" split to look at? Isn`t it SplitBoy :)
