The story continues...

For those who have not seen this thread on TheSamba.com yet, here is the link one more time:

This must be the absolute coolest barnfind in a long time. I really like the look of the car after it was modified from a full on race car to a road legal sports car. I fully understand the choice of building it back to race specs now, but there would be interesting to make a replica of the street version as well. A real beauty! Will be back at Prototyp to see this in the flesh at some point...

Back to nature

Before the snow starts covering all old metal here in the Norwegian forrests, we grabbed the opportunity to go treasure hunting. This time we found the remains of two beetles. Probably a 51 and a 54 beetle. At the same place we also found some english crap and a german Ford with a Golde sunroof.

This Rometch-Porsche race car was found in storage earlier this year. Can you imagine the heart rate seeing this dusty piece of vintage race histoy in the dark storage room? Car has now ended up at http://www.prototyp-hamburg.de/ for restoration. See some moe info here, posted by Splitpersonality: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=378245

My gilfriends VW-bag

This is what she got from me in end of the summer. This bag is made of VW-fabric all over as you can see. On the inside is it headliner from VW also. My mother-in-law did make it, I did only buy the fabric:) She use it, and like it pretty much! She has also got some VW-ear-rings and the VW-bus jewellery by Thomas Sabo.

Vintage photo

Open up this photo in full resolution... It's a barndoor pick up isn't it? And a split, rag tops and lot of atmosphere. I guess the pick up is not doing 80 km/h up that hill ;-)

Painting a split

What happens? Is`nt every split in the Sechs volt garage painted already? Is it a new project? It seems to be a nice color:) The owner must tell for him self.

The 52 Capitan

Just a photoshoot of the 52 Capitan before the winter.

Screwdrivers blog

The Sechs Volts biggest rivals on the norwegian VW scene, the "Screwdrivers", has entered the world wide web. On several occations during the summer season, we bump into these hardcore enthusiasts. They tend to show up at every VW gathering there is, and so does the Sechs Volt. Not seldom does it all turn into a fierce battle when these rivals meet. It never involves any fist fights, but it all goes down verbally. We usually cope with their southern division, but when things start to get ugly, they always bring in the northern division from Troendelag. We always turn out a size to small, as farmer talk from the prairie can't measure up against the sodd talk from the north... Now it's time to see if they blog as good as they small-talk.

They have some really impressive projects going on for sure, check out Runes barndoor project and lots of other great stuff =)

Crazy-award at SCC 2009

Our true Sechs volt-friend Morten Lund got the Crazy-award because he did fish a 1957-model Samba from the bottom of a Norwegian lake. Who else could get that award:)
Here you can follow the progress on Mortens samba:
